Abstract

623,817. Hatch covers. GUTHRIE, C. G. Oct. 1, 1946, Nos. 29177 and 29799. [Class 113 (i)] An articulated hatch cover assembly designed to be lifted clear of the hatch, comprises a series of hatch covers 3 articulated together by means of cables 4 passing through holes or tubes 11 through each cover 3, secured to the end cover at 6 and terminating in a lifting ring at the opposite end. A ball-and-socket joint 9, 10 is formed between each cover. The tubes 11 may replace the bolts in a built-up wooden cover. Specifications 17307/06, [Class 113], 291,653, [Class 113 (i)], 448,822 and 490,425 are referred to.
