Abstract
623,169. Manure distributers. CHEHERRE, A. April 24, 1947, No. 10943. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1939. [Class 6(i)] A manure distributer, of the type comprising a wheeled hopper 10 having a slit in its base bounded by an adjustable panel 14 and a reciprocating bar 16, driven by a cam turning with one of the land wheels, is characterized by the cam being formed as a groove 18 in a sleeve 19 extending over the boss of a road wheel 12 and surrounding a dog clutch, the movable element 21 of which comprises a second sleeve slidable on the road wheel axle 13. The hopper 10 includes a vertical rear wall having at its lower end the panel 14, raisable by a. lever 15. A plate 44, resting on the sloping front wall of the hopper, is connected to the reciprocating bar 16 by links 43. and is caused to act as an agitator. One end of the bar projects from the hopper and carries a roller 17 running in the groove 18. The cam can be clutched to the adjacent wheel 12 by the teeth 22 on the sleeve 21 which pass through grooves 24 in the cam and engage teeth 23 on the wheel. The sleeve is movable by a spring-loaded fever 26. The bar 16 has lugs 36 on its upper surface to assist in agitation.
