[Classes 83 (ii), 83 (iii) and 83 (iv)] A machine for removing the welding flash from a corner of a metal structure formed from Z or other section units comprises three reciprocating tools b<SP>1</SP>, c<SP>1</SP>, d<SP>1</SP> (not shown), one (c<SP>1</SP>) of which is movable diagonally of the corner while the other two are movable substantially parallel with the respective sides of the corner. In the machine shown, which is for operating upon the mitred corner of a window frame, the tool c<SP>1</SP> is constructed, as shown in Fig. 7, to remove the flash from the upper and lower surfaces of the lower web f and the upper surface of the upper web e; the other tools b<SP>1</SP>, d<SP>1</SP> are adapted to clean off the extreme edge e<SP>1</SP> of the section, the under surface of the web e, the inner side of the web g, and the lip f<SP>1</SP> of the web f. All the tools may be operated by a common drive, e.g. by connecting- rods h<SP>1</SP>, h2, h3, operated from a crank-shaft h driven through a clutch and bevel gearing by an electric motor, or the tools may be operated by separate drives suitably synchronized. The work is secured by any suitable means, e.g. by clamps i, k operated by toggle-link mechanism l actuated from a hydraulic cylinder m.
