Abstract

621,718. Automatically-adjustable shaft-couplings. C.A.V. Ltd., and EVANS, F. M. Feb. 22, 1947, No. 5245. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVII] A circumferentially adjustable shaft-coupling for automatically timing spark or fuel injection in internal combustion engines comprises diametrically disposed centrifugal masses 10 having oppositely inclined wedge-shaped ends sliding radially between projections 6, 7 alternating on the coupled shaft flanges 1, 2, the wedges at one end being wider than those at the other end and accommodating loading springs 12 and a plunger 11 bearing on a cover 5 secured to the shaft flange. The projections 6, 7 carry rollers 6a.
