Abstract

Regenerated cellulose products prepared from viscose are desulphurized with a solution of a metal-free desulphurizing agent in demineralized water, and then rinsed one or more times with demineralized water. The freshly precipitated products may be rinsed with ordinary, softened or demineralized water before desulphurization. The desulphurizing agent may be ammonium sulphide and the water may be demineralized by distillation or by treatment with an ion-exchange resin. Comparative examples are given.
