Abstract
620,411. Springs. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. July 16, 1946, No. 21224. Convention date, Sept. 3, 1942. [Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Group XL (c)] The resilient mountings provided for the components of an amplifier to reduce acoustic feedback are made more effective by locating the resonance frequency of the mountings above the passband of the amplifier and the resonance frequency of the mountings and component combined below the passband. Fig. 5 shows a component 31 mounted on springs 32, 33 and 34, 35 formed from a length of wire bent to form two arcuate arms joined and terminated by eyelets by which the springs are secured. The resonance frequency of the springs are made sufficiently high by using spring wire so thin that in operation the stress exceeds 70 per cent of the limit of fatigue. Preferably the plane of the spring arms is at right angles to the chassis and parallel to the side of the component to which it is secured.
