Abstract

<PICT:0619365/IV (c)/1> Apparatus for washing and other liquid treatment of artificial silk cakes consists of a column 1 provided with a flanged spigot 3 having a bayonet fixing 11 and a seal 12 where it is attached to the socket 10 through which the liquid is supplied. The cakes are placed on stands 5, which are somewhat shorter in length than the height of the cakes, and mounted on the column 1, and the top of the column is closed by the flanged bell-shaped cover 18 pressed down on to the uppermost cake by the action of the screw 15. A seal 20 prevents liquid passing from the cover 18 to the screw 15.
