[Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] Drawing; altering physical structure.-A method of manufacturing tubular axles, comprises cold working a tubular blank 1 along the whole or part of its length by pushing it through a die 2 causing a decrease in its cross-section, the axle being subsequently given its final form by turning or grinding or both. The method is said to achieve increased tenacity and fatigue strength.
