Abstract
619,225. Printing machines. GOSS PRINTING PRESS CO., Ltd. March 29, 1946, No. 9845. Convention date. April 27, 1945. [Class 100(ii)] In the method of printing in which the ink passes from a design cylinder 10 to the web 14 mainly under the influence of an electric field of force, the web 14 is fed as in Specification 619,224 so as to be in light contact with the inked surface, and the electric field is obtained by passing a current of relatively high amperage low voltage across the web 14. The web 14 is preferably made conducting by coating it lightly with a sal ammoniac solution by rollers 16a, 16b, 16c and a duct 16d, and the electrical circuit comprises a battery 19 earthed on the negative side and on the positive side connected to a variable resistance 20 and a cylinder 18 coated with a conducting material such as conducting rubber. The circuit is completed through the metal design to cylinder 10 to earth. U.S.A. Specifications 1,820,194 and 2,224,391 also are referred to.
