618,846. Jet-propulsion plant. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT), Ltd., and STEVENS, R. K. P. Nov. 16, 1946, No. 34042. [Class 110 (iii)] Fuel for a jet-propulsion or other gas turbine is vaporised in a duct surrounding and integral with a hot gas trunk which may be the exhaust trunk of the turbine. A helical vaporising duct is formed on an exhaust trunk 1 by a helical winding of a channel-shaped member 3 which is seam-welded to the trunk. A box section may be wound helically and the coils seam-welded together so that the inner wall forms the exhaust trunk. The vaporising duct may be enclosed in a jacket through which some of the exhaust gas is passed.
