Abstract

618,738. Shelves. CONSTANTINE, W. W. (General Motors Corporation). Nov. 27, 1946, No. 35198. [Class 52 (i)] A shelf for refrigerators is stamped from sheet aluminium and pressed to form ribs 23 with openings 20 therebetween, and an edge frame 24 flush with the rib tops and bent over to form a flange 26, the bottom of which is turned inwards along the front edge of the shelf to form a strengthening strip 28. The frame 24 is also pressed up to form a strengthening beading 29 along the back edge of the shelf. A modification is described in which the strip 28 is replaced by a box-like member secured along the front edge of the shelf.
