618,650. Liquid applicators. PETRIE, W. K. Nov. 7, 1946, No. 33178. [Class 19] An applicator for applying cleaning liquids to garments and other articles comprises a stopper 2 of permeable material, for example, compressed cotton wool, the operative end-face of which presents an inclined surface intersected by cross cuts 3 and the other end-face of which is formed with a blind hole 4, the bottom of the cross cuts being spaced from the blind end of the hole. In one form, Fig. 2, the stopper has a shoulder 5 resting against the neck 1 of the container while in another, Fig. 4, the stopper rests on an internal flange 6 projecting from the inner wall of the neck. The stopper may be cylindrical or coned.
