618,642. Metallic tubes. CHARLESWORTH, F. J. Nov. 7, 1946, No. 33066. [Class 99 (ii)] [Also in Group X] Tubular structural members, for use in tables, chairs, step ladders and like articles, are made from sheet metal channelsection strips 1, 2, which are telescoped together and secured by rivets 3 or like securing means passing transversely through the tubes. A reinforcing piece may be provided in the end of the tube and formed with a transverse hole to receive a bolt or other attachment means. According to the Provisional Specification the strips 1, 2 may be secured together by spot welding.
