618,620. Air-conditioning units. BIDDLE, Ltd., F. H., and BALLARD, V. J. Nov. 4, 1946, No. 32747. [Class 137] In a cabinet for the delivery or circulation of cooled or heated air, having a lower air inlet chamber 10, an upper chamber 12 containing a cooler or heater 28, and an intermediate fan chamber 11 partitioned from the chamber 10 by a horizontal filter 13, the air drawn into the chamber 11 by the fan or fans is delivered into a confined space 25 at the rear of said chamber, which forms a downward extension of the upper chamber 12. Room air may be drawn in through a grille in a removable front panel of the cabinet (not shown), and a damper-controlled fresh air inlet may also be provided. The filter 13 comprises a removable frame containing metal wool sandwiched between reticulated panels. The chambers 10, 11, 12 are separated by vertical partitions from two end compartments one to house fan driving means and the other to house piping associated with the cooler or heater.
