Abstract

618,316. Filters ; filtering media. GLENFIELD & KENNEDY, Ltd.. and BOUCHER, P. L. Oct. 15, 1946, Neo. 30728. [Class 46] The filtering medium comprises a foraminous sheet with ultra-fine meshes (e.g. 100,000 per square inch) interposed between two foraminous sheets formed with relatively large meshes (e.g. 100 per square inch). As shown in the figure, the sheet of ultra-fine mesh 8 is interposed between the relatively coarse mesh sheets 6 and 7 mounted on the rotary disc filter 1 rotated by a friction-disc in a bath of the liquid to be filtered 12, 13 is the outlet for filtered liquid. Cleaning liquid supplied by the pipe 9 is directed against the disc 1 by the jet orifices 10 and passes with the residue down the pipe 11. Specification 588,885 is referred to.
