Abstract

[Class 38 (i)] A battery terminal comprises a blade spring f of the shape shown in Fig. 1 placed between the contact surface i and screwed nut d. The spring is secured to the body a of the terminal and to an insulating housing e by bolts g and is provided with a central opening through which the post c passes. The housing e may be fastened by screws to the battery container or be moulded in one piece with it. To ensure correct connections the cable ends to be connected to the terminals may be of different sizes and pass through openings in the housing e of corresponding sizes, or the posts c of the two terminals may be of different diameters. The battery electrode lug b is connected to the body a of the terminal.
