Abstract

617,651. Vehicle tank mountings. BUTTERFIELD, Ltd., W. P., and BLAKE, H. J. Oct. 9, 1946, No. 30180. [Classes 103 (iv) and 108 (i)] A bracket for mounting a tank on a vehicle comprises a channel member 4, which is welded to a base-plate 3 with a drilled boss 9 welded to the top of the vertical web 2 to form a bearing for a bolster fastening bolt. The lower edges 5 of the side flanges 4 are recessed to accommodate a transverse rib 10 formed in the base-plate 3. The bracket may be secured to a chassis-member 11 by bolts passing through washers 13 over holes formed in the ends of the rib 10 and having their lower ends located in a similar ribbed fastening plate 14 disposed below the chassis-member 11.
