616,924. Thermal switches. BARBER, A. A. Sept. 23, 1946, No. 23395. [Class 38 (v)] A thermal switch suitable for starting electric discharge lamps has a resilient rectangular - shaped metal frame 1 having a limb 2 which is free at one end. This free end carries a contact 3 which co-operates with a fixed contact 4. A metal rod 6 is secured in tension to the base of-the frame by means of an insulating bead 7 and to the top of the frame by means of an adjusting nut 9 which bears on a further bead 8 through which the rod passes. When the rod 6 expands under the influence of a heating coil 10 the contacts 3, 4 are opened
