[Class 135] [Also in Groups XVIII and XXVIII] A liquid measuring and dispensing apparatus comprises a knob 51 which sets an indicating disc 52 to the quantity to be delivered and at the same time rotates, through gearing, a notched disc 37 which holds in position a latch 33 connected through levers 27, 31, 26 and 24 to a valve spindle 14 to retain open a valve 13 in the delivery conduit. A lever 65 is moved upward against a spring 66 and is retained in the upper position by a catch 68 engaging a roller 69. This movement actuates rod 64 to start the pump and in addition moves rod 82 to engage a pinion 55 in the drive between the indicating mechanism of a measuring device and the notched disc 37. As the liquid is delivered a disc 21 on the valve spindle 14 is raised to allow liquid to pass through the opening 22 and at the same time compress the spring 23. Towards the end of the delivery of the quantity, the notch in the disc 37 permits the latch 33 to pass and the end of the lever 27 to fall on a cam 43 having a notch 45 which allows the lever to fall at the delivery of the exact quantity. This movement is transmitted to lever 24 which permits the valve 13 to close by the flow of liquid to ensure a quick cut-off. The extension 75 of the lever 26 also moves from a stop 74 which permits the lever 65 to be released from the catch 68 and return to its original position, cutting out the motor driving the pump. At this stage the disc 21 and valve 13 return to their original positions.
