[Class 79 (iii)] [Also in Group XXX] In a screw jack, which may be attached to the chassis 10, Fig. 1, of a vehicle, the nut 14, Fig. 4, is elongated and its bore is enlarged at 16 so that a space is formed between it and the spindle 11 which is filled with lubricant. The nut may be threaded at 18, 20 or at 18 only. The nut may be a casting as shown, or may be composed of three units welded together. The flange 15, by which the nut is secured to the chassis, may be welded to the upper end or to the side of the nut.
