Abstract
612,463. Metal pipes. SAXTON, B. B. May 24, 1946, No. 15769. [Class 99 (ii)] [Also in Group X] Articles formed of metal sheets secured edge-toedge, and described particularly with reference to the construction of an air duct, have alternate sheets, e.g. around the periphery of the air duct, provided with metal strips near to the edges form grooves receiving the plain, bent-over edges of the intervening sheets, these sheets being retained by bending over the edges of the sheets which carry the marginal strips. The sheets 1, Fig. 2, have strips 2 secured by rivets, welding, &c., the strips being offset to provide longitudinal grooves in which the flanges of intermediate sheets 4 are located and retained by bending over the marginal edges 7 of the sheets 1. The sheets may be curved and the duct &c. may be of polygonal section.
