Abstract
612,293. Pants. COOPER'S, Inc. May 23, 1946, No. 15659. Convention date, Sept. 27, 1945. [Class 141] An undergarment in which leg portions 11 are joined to a central portion 10 by seams 20 extending down the front of the garment, along the groin lines and edges of the crotch and up the rear portion of the garment, is characterized in that each leg portion 11 has an overlapping layer of material which extends completely around its base with part of the encircling edge of the overlap extending and secured to the crotch by the seam 20. The leg portion is formed from a piece of material cut to the shape shown in Fig. 3 having an extension 14 which is folded along a line 15 and.the arcuate edge 16 spread into a broader arc 18 which is sewn to the main leg section 13. A seam 22 joins the two ends of the two layers of material to form a leg encircling band which may be folded either inwardly or outwardly of the leg. The garment may be made from knitted material, the crotch zone 21 being formed from a double layer with a tuck 23 provided to give fullness.
