Abstract

611,722. Pulse generating circuits. FARNSWORTH TELEVISION & RADIO CORPORATION. Aug. 21, 1945, No. 21396. Convention date, Aug. 26, 1944. [Class 40 (vi)] A capacity coupled multivibrator circuit has one grid leak resistor omitted, so that the time constant of one of the external grid circuits is infinite. In the circuit shown in Fig. 1, it is stated that the circuit normally remains in a stable state with valve 1 conducting, and valve 2 cut off. Negative trigger pulses are applied to this flip-flop circuit via condenser 23, the output pulses being taken from across cathode impedance 15. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown), a variable resistance is included in the cathode circuit of valve 1, and it is stated that this circuit is self-running, and that the frequency may be controlled by varying this cathode resistance. In this case, synchronizing pulses may be applied via condenser 23. Suitable values for the components of the circuit are given in the Specification.
