Abstract

611,457. Two-part couplings combined with fuses. SANDERS & CO. (WEDNESBURY), Ltd., W., and BAYLISS, G. H. May 1, 1946, No. 13112. [Class 38 (i)] In a fused plug connector, a cartridge fuse lies in semicylindrical contacts formed in the heads of a contact pin and of a terminal, and is held in position by being clamped by the cover. The line pin 7 has a contact head with a semicylindrical recess 7b fitting into recess 5b of the fuse. In line with the pin is a terminal 8 with recessed head 8a fitting into recess 5c of the base. An insulating sheet 12 is held by screws 13 within a flange 5h on the base and serves to hold the contacts in position, whilst a slot 12a enables a fuse 9 to contact the recesses 7b and 8a. A cover 51 when secured to the base by semi-captive, spring- loaded screws 14, holds the fuse in position. A cord grip 11 is also provided. The neutral pin 6 and earth pin 10 which are of conventional design are mounted in recesses 5a, 5f respectively. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 609,337.
