[Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XI] A blow-pipe 47 (see Group XI) may be secured to a carriage 48 for rectilinear movement on a track 56 surrounding a bridge 57 in the form of a trough through which cooling fluid is passed, this bridge 57 being supported by members 60, one of which may serve as a control panel comprising a gas supply valve, main switch, starting button, potentiometer control, reverse switch and voltmeter for the driving unit of the carriage 48. The cutting oxygen may be controlled by a valve 29 and supplied through a rigid conduit 62 supported on an arch 61, a flexible lead 49 and a rigid tube 50, the gases for the combustible mixture and the water for cooling the blow-pipe being similarly controlled and supplied by conduits supported on the arch and by flexible leads. A metal sheet &c. may be provided to protect the conduits 62 from the heat of the cutting operation and the members 60 may have runners 71 adapted to move along a track 72 to allow motion of the blow-pipe normal to the line of cut.
