Abstract

Filaments, yarns, ribbons and like structures of polyethylene terephthalate are drawn by feeding them from a cold roller on to and around a roller heated to at least 60 DEG C., preferably 75-100 DEG C., and if desired, on to and around a third roller, the peripheral speed of the heated roller or the third roller being greater than that of the cold roller. The third roller, if used, may be either hot or cold. Examples are given.
