[Class 87(ii)] The scraper blade 4 is so mounted as to be rotatable about the axis of the roll 1 from the set tangential position shown in Fig. 1 to the set tangential position shown in Fig. 2, and is also rotatable about the pivot 10 counterclockwise (i.e. away from the roll 1) for cleaning purposes. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1 the three rollers 1, 2, 3 are disposed to roll out and gauge dough webs, and the function of the blade 4 is to clean the roll 1, whereas in the arrangement shown in Fig. 2 the rollers are disposed to form the hopper of a sheeting-machine and the blade functions not only as a cleaner but as a stripper also. The blade is secured by screws 6 and clamping-plate 5 to a holder 21 having bosses 7 through which are slid screws 8. A pad 22 is disposed between the blade and the holder. The screws 8 have eyes at their upper ends which fit over pins 10 fixed on plates 11 mounted on a boss which is concentric with roll 1. The blade is adjusted to and from roll 1 by means of locking nuts 9 on the screws 8. A locking bracket 12 having a screw 14 normally secures the holder 21 to the plates 11, but may be swivelled away to allow the holder to move away from roll 1 about pins 10. The plates 11 are moved between the two positions shown by turning a shaft 17 through 180 degrees, this turning movement being transmitted to plates 11 via cranks 16 and arms 15. The shaft is turned by a slidable handle 18 which can be locked in position between lugs 20.
