[Class 35] The cupreous conductor bars of a highspeed rotor have end loops of a light metal or alloy to reduce the centrifugal stress on the retaining bells, aluminium or magnesium or other alloys of specific gravity less than 3.5 and preferably between 1.5 and 3.0 being used while inter-connections between the end-turns 8 and to slip-rings are made by cupreous straps mechanically secured or brazed to cupreous terminal elements 11 on the end loops.
