[Class 40 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVII] The level of a liquid under pressure is indicated with the aid of one or more condensers arranged in a strong side tube to which the liquid which serves as the dielectric is admitted. In one arrangement, Fig. 1 (not shown), separate condensers are arranged at different levels in a number of projections D<SP>1</SP> from the side tube D. The initial position of the condensers may be adjusted by means of a screw H. They may be included in separate tuned circuits associated with relays or may be connected in a common circuit. In another arrangement, Fig. 3, a number of relays L are included in the circuit of the condenser formed by the wall of the side tube and an adjustable tube. These relays are operated by the joint effect of the increase of current due to the increased capacity and of a magnet K floating on the liquid. The change in current in the relay circuit may be separately indicated. The magnet may be in a separate tube.
