Abstract
602,406. Mining-machines. PYRENE CO., Ltd., and CLIFFORD, W. J. Oct. 15, 1945, No. 26929. [Classes 68 (i) and 85] On a coal-cutting machine having an endless chain there is mounted a foam generator 6 to which air under pressure is supplied through a pipe 7 whilst a solution of foam-forming compound is also supplied through a pipe 8 from a tank 9. The foam-forming compound is forced from the tank by air from a branch pipe 10 which is connected to the pipe 7. The foam is delivered by a pipe 11 on to the cutter chain 4 at a point before or immediately after the coal-cutting run of the picks. Specifications 540,047, 541,318 and 577,086 are referred to.
