Abstract
602,343. Pressure-fluid servomotor-control systems. WESTLAND AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and WIDGERY, W. M. April 20, 1945, No. 10011. [Class 135] [Also in Group XXXVIII] In a pressure control system for maintaining the pressure in an enclosed space, e.g. an aircraft cabin, at a predetermined magnitude, the pressurising point is controlled by an electric motor 8, Fig. 1, driving a shaft 7 carrying a cam 6 which adjusts the position'of the plunger 2 carrying an absolute pressure-sensitive capsule pack 17. The extent and direction of movement of the motor is controlled by a pair of micro-switches 11, 12, Fig. 4, actuated by a lever 18 pivoted on a rotatable frame 10 carrying the switches and adapted to be rotated by the motor through the sleeve 9, Fig. 5, geared to the shaft 7, the lever having a roller 19 engaging and disengaging a slot 20 in a disc 21 carried by a spindle 22 operated by a presetting knob 23. Rotation of the knob moves the lever 18 carrying the pin 27 which moves the levers 13, 14 controlled by the spring 26, to operate one or other of the switch buttons 28, 28a. The motor then turns the frame until the roller re-engages the slot and the button is no longer depressed. Specifications 563,553 and 602,311 are referred to.
