[Class 79 (v)] A reversible, steerable, self-propelled tractor vehicle comprises a rigid frame, a centrallydisposed steering column, a seat or seats so that the driver may face the steering column in either direction of travel and means for driving the vehicle up to the same full speed in either direction, and power lift mechanism provided at each end for the attachment of a cultivating implement and by which both implements may be raised together or one may be raised and the other lowered to a regulated working depth. As shown, the tractor is equipped with four wheels and is substantially symmetrical about its centre. It is provided with a variable speed gear box and may be driven in either direction at the same top speed. Steering of each set of wheels is effected by one of a pair of steering wheels 2 mounted on a vertical steering column 1 and which are operated from one of two seats 3, 4 such that the driver always faces the direction of travel. Land cultivating tools 8, 9 are secured at each end of the tractor, only one set of which can be in operation at one time, the other set being retracted. Operation of the tools is effected by power lift means 6, 7, operated by a lever 5 adjacent the steering column. Apart from ploughing the soil a ridging implement may be attached to the tractor for covering the seeds. The tractor may be of the endless track type. In an alternative construction the motor may have one seat rotatably mounted on the steering column and means may be provided so that when the seat is rotated, reversal of the steering and reversal of the direction in which the tractor is driven is automatically effected.
