Abstract

599,888. Roofs. BAINBRIDGE, H. Oct. 15, 1945, No. 26898. [Class 20(iv)] A sheet metal combined fascia and soffit of L-shape cross-section, the vertical arm forming the fascia, and the horizontal arm the soffit to mask overhanging eaves, has both free edges rolled over inwardly to engage the corners of a flat plate bracket, having flanged vertical and horizontal edges, secured to a roof spar. As shown, the fascia and soffit, rolled over at c and d, and with a drip rib at e, is sprung or threaded over flanged flat plate brackets f. Gutter brackets j may be secured by set screws k engaging tapped metal strips i behind the fascia or the bracket flanges. The fascia, in lengths of e.g. 10ft., with rebated or joggled ends, may be formed of galvanised sheet steel, aluminium or a light alloy such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark "Duralumin."
