Abstract
598,773. Measures of capacity. CANNING TOWN GLASS WORKS, Ltd., and PARNABY, J. J. Sept. 10, 1945, No. 23245. [Class 106 (v)] In making a sample test of the capacities of a large batch of bottles, a predetermined number is taken from the batch, filled and then emptied into a measuring flask 2 having levelling means 13 and provided with an indicating tube 6 adjacent which are set indicators 9, 10, the indicators being adjustable to compensate for temperature changes. If the height of liquid in the flask lies between the indicators, the joint capacity of the selected samples is within the permitted limits. The indicators 9, 10 are individually adjustable on a tube 8 itself adjustable along a rod 7 to correct for temperature variations measured by a thermometer 11. The flask is fitted with a removable funnel 4, an anti-splash ring 5, a spirit level 14 and a drain cock 4.
