[Class 9 (i)] A blasting charge comprises an explosive cartridge 12 in a tube 9 which is shouldered at each end t( form male and female portions 1 1A respectively of a joint, so thai a number of charges can be built up end-to-end to form a column Securing pins are inserted througl holes 10, 11 in the interfitting male and female ends into the cartridge or staples may be used, fastening the ends of two tubes together The cartridge may be displaced ir the tube, on assembly, so that the ends of the cartridge are at the middles of the tubes.
