596,048. Photographic diazotype material. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORPORATION. July 16, 1945, No. 18186. Convention date, July 15, 1944. [Class 98 (ii)] Photographic diazotype material comprises a diazotized p-diamine of the. benzene or naphthalene series or o-aminonaphthol and two coupling components of greatly different coupling potentials with respect to the diazo compound. The low density areas are of a different colour to the high density areas. The material may comprise (a) p-diazodiphenylamine, mhydroxyphenylurea (slow), and 2: 3- dihydroxynaphthalene (fast) ; (b)p-diazo-N-diethylm-toluidine, 2 : 3-dihydroxynaphthalene-6- sulphonic acid (slow), and acetoacetanilide (fast) ; or (c) p-diazo-N-diethylaniline, 2 : 3- dihydroxynaphthalene (fast), and 7-hydroxy- 1 : 2-naphthimidazole (slow). The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the use of a single slowcoupling coupling component with or without an additional fast-coupling diazo compound, and refers to materials comprising (1) p-diazo-N- diethyl - m - toluidine, 1 - diazo - 2 - naphthol-4- sulphonic acid, and 2: 3-dihydroxynaphthalene-6-sulphonic acid ; or (2) 1-diazo-2-naphthol- 4-sulphonic acid and 2 : 3-dihydroxynaphthalene-6-sulphonic acid. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
