Abstract
595,943. Bottle-filling machines. MARAIS, J. P., (trading as SOUTHERN LIQUEUR CO.). July 10, 1945, No. 17604. [Class 125 (ii)] A bottle-filling device consists of a tiltable container 2 fed with liquid to a constant level and provided internally with 'an assized open-topped chamber 20, Fig. 3, the edge of the opening 22 being located just below the constant level line of the liquid when the container 2 is in its untilted position. An aperture at the bottom of the assized chamber 20 is connected to a bottle filling syphon pipe 24 so arranged that when the opening 22 is raised above the constant liquid level the upper part of the syphon pipe falls below that level to cause the contents of the assized chamber 20 to syphon into a bottle. Several containers 2 may be suspended side by side from a liquid feed pipe 3, Fig. 1, fed from a reservoir 5 having a float controlled valve. The support members 23 of the containers 2 extend downwards to support the delivery ends of the syphon pipes 24. Bottle rests 26 are provided with a drip collecting trough 27 having a discharge pipe 28. In a modification, removable assized chambers of different capacities are provided in a common tiltable container. A plurality of tiltable containers may be arranged on a revolving base
