Abstract
595,449. Telemetering. CURTIS PUMP CO. Jan. 27, 1944, No. 1547. Convention date, July 9, 1943. [Class 40 (i)] In an indicating system a number of signals, each varying in intensity with a quantity to be measured, are applied over a single channel to a receiver, preferably a cathode-ray tube, having a similar number of indicating means and scales. As shown in the Figure, differing low-frequency inputs 109-112 are varied in amplitude in response to the condition to be by means of the movable contact elements 105-108 and applied through isolating resistors to a single pair of conductors. At the receiver, the signals are segregated by means of tuned circuits, each comprising an inductance 148 and condenser 149, each circuit being tuned to one of the input frequencies. The signals are then rectified and applied to the deflector plates 23-26 of cathode-ray tube 10. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the signals modulate a high-frequency carrier wave which is transmitted to a receiving station where the modulated carrier wave is demodulated and the signals segregated in a similar manner to Fig. 2.
