[Class 78(i)] A conveyer for use in collieries and the like comprises a driving head of four drums, three of which drive the conveyer belt and the fourth constitutes an adjustably mounted tensioning drum, this drum being so arranged that the conveyer belt passes over the tensioning drum prior to passing over the other three drums. In the embodiment shown, the conveyer belt is provided with a driving head A comprising driving drums D, E, F, and a tensioning drum G slidably mounted in its supporting framework.
