594,472. Delivering measured quantities. CARTNER, J., and SHERWOOD, M. M. M. Feb. 1, 1945, No. 2602. [Class 106 (v)] A sheet-metal dispensing container 1 comprises a hopper 3 within the container and spaced from a floor to the container, a tubular member 4 slidable on the floor and movable to one position to form an extension to the hopper closed by the floor, the tubular member 4 having a plate 5 extending frcm the top in the plane of the bottom of the hopper so that the plate obturates the hopper when the tubular member is moved to a second position in which it registers with an opening 7 in the floor, whereby the tubular member is charged when under the hopper and discharges itself when moved over the opening in the floor, and lateral guide members 9 engaged by lateral projections 10 on the tubular member to retain the tubular member in alignment with the hopper. An operating rod 6 is provided to move the member 4. In a modification, the plate 5 is also guided by lateral guides.
