Abstract

A process of treating magnesium or magnesium base alloys wherein a body of such metal while molten and containing a refining element is maintained hotter at its upper part than at its lower part during a settling period. The said refining element may be manganese, zirconium, beryllium, tantalum or titanium. Specifications 336,498, [Class 82 (i)], and 411,324 are referred to.
