Abstract

593,811. Stuffing-boxes. TITEFLEX. Inc. March 27, 1945, No. 7727. Convention date, Feb. 25, 1944. [Class 122 (v)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A locking and moisture-sealing gasket for a radio-shielded ignition harness for internalcombustion engines, comprises a resilient insulating member 12 having a central hole 13 to fit closely on a spark-plug cable 6, 7 and a metal band 14 with a flange 15 having teeth 15<1> embedded in a web 20 integral with the member 12. The band 14 also has a flange 16 which is retained in a groove 17 on the insulating member. As shown in Fig. 3, the whole of the teeth may be embedded in the web. The gasket is wedged into the outlet of a manifold (see Group XXXVI) and may have a conical insulator to fit a correspondingly-shaped outlet, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown).
