Abstract

592,983. Containers for transporting liquids. TANKS & LININGS, Ltd., (formerly TANK LININGS, Ltd.), and JARAY, F. F. March 15, 1945, No. 6526. [Classes 21 and 66] [Also in Group XXIX] A container for transporting liquids comprises a bag 6 of flexible plastic material having an open neck 7 and a rigid support 13 for the bag. A bush member 15 is mounted upon the support and the neck 7 of the bag extends upwardly over the rim of the bush member 15 and is secured in fluid-tight manner by a screwthreaded closure cap 19. The bag may be held upon the bush member by a spring clip 17 engaging over the bag and within a groove 16 in the member 15. The support 13 may be in the form of a box of trapezoidal shape with a hinged lid upon which the member 15 is mounted, the shape of the box facilitating stacking or nesting of empty containers. Alternatively the support may be collapsable or may be taken to pieces so that it can be packed in a small space. Slots may be cut in the support to afford hand grips, and a slot 30 may be provided to facilitate pouring of the liquid. The bag may be of reinforced plastic material, the reinforcement comprising filaments, yarns, threads or fabrics of textile material, or metal wire or metal fabrics.
