Abstract

902,462. Bottle carriers; packaging. LAWRENCE, F. D. Aug. 22, 1958 [Aug. 29, 1957], No. 27252/57. Classes 94(1) and 133. A bottle-carrier folded up from a cardboard blank comprises side walls 7, top wall 8 and bottom wall 9; the edges 1 of top apertures 3a snap under the rim R of each bottle cap or rim C while bottom apertures 4 embrace the neck N, see Fig. 3. Under the weight of the bottles the side walls 7 tend to close inwardly increasing the grip. In further embodiments, the carrier may have a single bottom wall and overlapping side walls; or a side wall may be adhesively secured to the bottom to form a collapsible tube. The top cut-outs may consist of apertures near the top edge of the side walls; a handle may be provided, or the carrier may be of triangular cross-section. The carrier may be creased to collapse flat when not in use, and weakened portions may be provided to facilitate removal from the bottles.
