[Classes 44 and 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] In a locking device for locking two members together, e.g. hinged members of an aircraft undercarriage, comprising a pin 4, Fig. 1, on the member 1, extending transversely to the general direction of relative movement between the members, and engaging in an open-ended slot 8 in a keeper 6 housed in the other member 2 and rotatable between a position in which the slot is open for the entry or exit of the pin and a locking position in which the slot retains the pin, with a releasable detent 11 normally holding the keeper 6 in the locking position, the keeper is of circular form with its periphery forming its bearing surface in the member 2. The slot 8 may have one edge so arranged that the keeper is rotated to locking position on engagement by the pin 4, and may also have a second edge so arranged that the pin rotates the keeper to the open position when the detent is released and the members are folded about the hinge-pin 3. The pin 4 and the hinge-pin 3 extend between cheeks on the end of the member 1, and the flattened end of the member 2, in which the keeper 6 and the detent 11 are housed, fits between these cheeks. An open-ended slot 5 in the member 2 permits entry of the pin 4. The detent may be operable by means of a bell-crank lever 15 which is actuated by a link 16 pivoted to a sleeve 13 sliding on the member 2 and moved by the operating member 27 which effects the folding of the members. A spring-pressed plunger 28 bears on the periphery of the keeper 6 to prevent free rotation to the closed position. In the construction shown in Fig. 6, the keeper 6 is biassed towards the open position by a spring 17, and the detent is a spring-urged plunger 21 having pin and slot connection with the sliding sleeve 13.
