Abstract
592,511. Condensers. THOMSON, A. Feb. 10, 1944, No. 552/45. Convention date, Dec. 8, 1942. Divided out of 592,491, [Group XXXV]. [Class 37] A condenser suitable for use in a coilcondenser unit as described in Specification 592,491, [Group XXXV], and having small change of dielectric constant with temperature, comprises a pressed ceramic base 241 formed on one face with rows of similar upstanding projections 242 completely immersed, under a mass of silver 243 and having a layer of silver 244 on the other face, the two coatings being separated by a wide anti-leakage rim 246. The condenser is reduced to the desired capacity by grinding away with a wheel of small radius the silver over one or more of the projections so as completely to expose the upper surface of the projection and leave no trace of silver thereon.
