[Class 26] [Also in Group XXII] Domestic baths are formed from a number of sheet metal parts comprising a bowl section in two or more longitudinally-divided parts and end sections, connected together and longitudinal and transverse butt welds and then vitreously enamelled. Each part may have a rim integral therewith or welded thereto. The bath may have two bowl sections a, b and two end sections c, d with integral rims e, the end section d having a waste hole f, an overflow hole, and holes for reception of taps, and the rim having a depression serving as a soap tray. The parts are butt welded along the lines j and k. The rim parts may be separate and lapped over the bath sections as at l and welded thereto. In another form the bowl may comprise a middle bottom section and two side sections. The bath may be supported in a cradle comprising a number of stamped metal cross-beams m, which may be pierced at intervals for lightness, and comprise a base m<SP>1</SP> for fixing to the floor and vertical side parts n which may extend up to the rim or only a short distance up the side of the bath. The bearers are connected by bars u bolted thereto. Longitudinally directed end bearers m<SP>10</SP> may be used in addition. The seating faces of the bearers may be lined with felt, etc., and the bath enclosed in a casing by supporting panels p against the rim and against the vertical parts n of the bearers. Small tabs may be welded to the inside of the rim to which the top of the panels may be screwed, the lower parts being screwed to the parts n. According to the Provisional Specification the parts may be riveted, screwed or brazed together and the bowl section may be in one piece. The parts may be made of aluminium and polished instead of enamelled.
