Abstract
590,624. Positioning loom picker for automatic shuttle changing. AKT.-GES. DER EISENUND STAHLWERKE VORM. G. FISCHER. Jan. 22, 1945, No. 1717. Convention date, Jan. 6, 1944. [Class 142 (iii)] When automatic shuttle changing occurs, the linkage 5, 27, 25, which swings open the shuttle box front 20, also turns a shaft 2 anticlockwise from the position shown in Fig. 2. At first, a spring 6 keeps the nose 18 of a bracket 11 in contact with a segment 14 fixed on the shaft 2, so that a lever 9 enters the path of the picker 12; the bracket 11 is then arrested by an abutment 1 and continued movement of the segment 14 turns the lever 9 about its pivot 8 (by means of a cam face 15), thereby moving the picker away from the shuttle as shown in Fig. 3. The invention is also described as applied to a shuttle box having a vertically rising front.
