Abstract
590,359. Lens mounts. TAYLOR, TAYLOR & HOBSON, Ltd., COLTMAN, D. C. W., and PHILLIPS, A. C. April 19, 1945, No. 9799. [Class 75 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] A bezel stop for a lens comprises a bezel ring of springy plate material, such as steel, having a notch in its outer circumferential portion which is sprung behind an internal arcuate projection or projections in the lens mount, the ring being inserted by sliding the shoulder at one end of the notch through a notch or opening in the arcuate projection, or between two such projections, in the mount and then turning the ring relatively to the mount until the whole outer circumferential portion of the ring lies behind the arcuate projection or projections, and the inner circumferential portion of the ring bears resiliently on the lens within the mount. As shown, the bezel ring D, of slightly conical shape, makes spring contact with the lens B which lies in a recess A<1> of the lens mount A, the outer edge of the ring lying in a ledge C' below the top of the lens B. The ring is placed in position by means of the notch C<2> in the annular rib C. The rib C need not be continuous, and it may be constituted by two or more angularly-spaced co-planar arcuate projections.
