A pocket lens comprises a cover formed of two similarly shaped parts a held together by clips d to form a hollow space open at the top in which can slide a member e carrying a lens h. The lens slide e has members g engaging correspondingly shaped recesses b in the members a and which may be gripped by the fingers to slide the lens out of the cover for use, such withdrawal being limited by engagement of stops f on the slide with stops c on the cover.
